Airsoft Louisville Official Rules

Airsoft Louisville’s Home Field

Airsoft Louisville is extremely fortunate to have been able to partner with Asylum Extreme as our home field. All ASL games will be hosted at Asylum unless otherwise noted. Any ASL games hosted at Asylum must be approved by a member of the Airsoft Louisville Leadership Team. This is to avoid scheduling conflicts or confusion with Asylum.

Additional Asylum Rules

1. All participants must pay the field fee and sign an Asylum Waiver EVERY TIME YOU PLAY AT ASYLUM! There are no exceptions! Field fees for 2010 are $15 for non members and $10.60 for ASL Members. Both amounts include tax.
2. Mags out in the staging area.
3. No shooting from the staging area.
4. Test firing may only be done from the chrono area.
5. Goggles must be worn into the chrono area.
6. Barrel bags MUST be used. One can be purchased inside Asylum’s shop for $5. This must be used anytime we are not out in the field.
7. Stay away from any paintball games that may be in progress. In other words, do not leave the designated field of play.
8. Allow event organizers to deal with any issues with paintballers, paintball referees or any staff at Asylum. If you are approached by a referee or other Asylum staff member, please comply with what they ask. If you have an issue, please contact the ASL event organizer and have them address the issue with the staff member.

**We are very fortunate to have an awesome home field such as this. We are able to operate on our own, without the need for any referees from Asylum and we’d like to keep it that way. Please respect these rules and Asylum’s property. If you are not willing to comply with these, or any other ASL rules, you will be warned, then asked to leave.**

Age Limit Rules
Due to the nature of airsoft and the level of maturity that is required, Airsoft Louisville has the following age restrictions in place:

From Asylum's Minimum Age to 15:
Parent must introduce themselves to a Leadership team member (Adam, Cheeto, Robben, Fish or Bishop).
Parent must be on site at least until we head to the field. This is for the parent to observe what thier child is about to do with strangers.
After the player's first full day's game is established, parent is no longer needed to be on site for any amount of time. (*Except to complete Paintball Asylum's waiver).
Contact info must be obtained in case of emergency, and must be willing to pick up child at a moments notice due to weather and or schedule change.
It is allowed for a parent to be a chauffeur for a group. Such a situation, the parent will be accountable for their entire group of underaged individuals.
*Parent, or legal guardian, MUST also sign the Paintball Asylum waiver (either on-site, or waiver printed, signed and brought to Paintball Asylum). A chauffeur may NOT sign for every person in their group. Each child will need his/her parent or guardian to sign their individual waiver.
The waiver is Paintball Asylum's rules, and it is a matter of insurance and safety.
If issues occur, Airsoft Louisville can/may, at anytime, require a parent on site if someone under 18 proves they need to have that. These issues will be dealt with on a case by case basis.
Must be 18+ to use ANYTHING that shoots over 400fps with .2g BB's.
No other requirements.

Ages 16 & 17:
Parent must sign Paintball Asylum waiver.
Must be 18+ to use ANYTHING that shoots over 400fps with .2g BB's.
No other requirements.

Ages 18+:
You may sign your own waiver.
No other requirements.

Please note that age does not always define maturity. Airsoft Louisville Members hold the explicit right to decide if a player meets a level of maturity required to participate in events with Airsoft Louisville.

Velocity Limits

350 fps limit with .2g 6mm BBs for all indoor CQB style games.
400 fps limit with .2g 6mm BBs for all full auto airsoft guns AND all Airsoft Louisville night events.
500 fps limit with .2g 6mm BBs for all semi auto and bolt action sniper rifles.
** You must be 18 or over to use an airsoft gun shooting over 400fps.

Velocity reducers are NOT permitted. They have been deemed unreliable.

All weapons will be chronoed! We do not have any exceptions to this rule. If you’re over the FPS limits, then your gun cannot be used at an ASL event.

.12g BBs are illegal and are not to be used in any airsoft replica on or off the field. They are dangerous and a hazard to other players. Do not bring them to ASL events.

Eye/Head Protections

-Goggles REQUIRED! Impact rated (meets or exceeds ANSI standards) fully sealed goggles must be worn at all times on the game fields.

-Full Face protection is RECOMMENDED – either a balaclava or a full paintball mask that covers both your ears and mouth.
This is loosely MANDATORY for Airsoft Louisville night events.

Minimum Engagement Distance (MED)

No shooting less than 10 feet. We realize that in some instances, this is not always possible. Please just use your head and make sure that you follow this rule whenever possible. In any case, when you realize you are going to get in close (around or entering buildings, etc) you MUST switch to semi auto. If you fail at this, I'm sure you will be explicitly notified.
Reoccuring issues will be dealt with on case by case basis.

Mercy Kills

An order to surrender can be given within the 10 ft MED. The player ordering the surrender must sneak up on a player who is unaware of his presence or put the surrendering player in a situation where he or she was caught by surprise. All players ordered to surrender must comply. It is conceivable that a player can sneak up to within 10 ft of a group and order them all to surrender.

Building Rules

-No blind firing, you must see your target.
-Respect your Minimum Engagement Distance.
-Always use semi auto mode when engaging in buildings.
-No guns over 400fps shooting inside buildings. However, they may shoot OUT of or INTO buildings as long as a safe distance is maintained.
-Do not block or barricade doors to where they cannot be opened.
- Players are not permitted to stick their barrels through cracks in buildings to shoot at another player. A crack is defined as any space in a structure through which BBs would not normally fit from 20-30 feet away. This is an addition to the blind fire rule.

Hits

-Any hit from a BB anywhere on your body or gear is considered a good hit or an elimination.
-Gun hits do not count. This rule only applies to the weapon you are actively shooting. If your gun that is holstered or slung is hit, then it counts the same as a gear hit, which counts as a hit.
-Ricochets do not count. Any hit from a BB ricocheting off an object close to you (wall, tree, your gun etc) does not count as a hit.
-Friendly fire (hits from teammates) counts as a hit.

-In the event of an elimination, the eliminated player must yell “HIT!” No false calls.
-Pull out your red death rag immediately, wave it and place it on your head.
-It is best to raise both hands above your head as well. If necessary, call out “HIT!” numerous times to prevent being shot again.
-If the area is hot, the eliminated player(s) should lay down on the ground and wait. It may be necessary to keep yelling “HIT!” When the area clears, exit safely or wait for a medic.
-While exiting or waiting for a medic, the only word from an eliminated player must be “HIT! or “MEDIC!” Dead men tell no tales.
-Eliminated players may leave equipment at the spot of elimination to be used by surviving members. This is at the discretion of the eliminated player. Equipment must be retrieved at the spot where the player was eliminated.

Was I hit or not?

When you THINK you may have gotten hit by a BB, you should declare yourself “HIT!” Sometimes it is very hard to tell if you have been hit. However, if someone fires at you and you have nothing but soft cover (ie bushes, tall grass, loose brush etc) you probably got hit.

Remember, WHEN IN DOUBT, CALL YOURSELF OUT.

Medic Rules

-Every player will have a rope issued to them that is to be tied somewhere on their gear.
-Every player is considered a medic in the sense that they can heal any other player on their team if they are hit.
-When hit, a player must call for a medic. A player may only give his/her location and that they need a medic. Dead men tell no tales.
-To heal a wounded player, simply tie a knot in their rope. Once a knot has been tied, the wounded player is may remove their death rag and they are back in play.
-For the first TWO hits, knots are tied in the medic rope.
-Upon receiving a THIRD hit, players are to go to their designated respawn points, untie all knots in their rope and they are back in play.
-If a medic does not reach a wounded player within 5 minutes, that player has bled out, which means he/she must walk back to their respawn point and they are back in. DO NOT TIE OR UNTIE ANY KNOTS WHEN RESPAWNING FROM BLEEDING OUT!

Ammo Rules

High Capacity Magazines (150-600 rounds and winds on the bottom) – two (2) allowed at the same time.
OR
1 high cap and no more than 3 mids or standards.

*You may ONLY carry 2 high caps if you choose to use any high caps.

You can carry as many low, standard or midcaps as you want.

Box mags can only be used on support weapons replicas M249, MG36, M60 etc. (Except in 'Old School' games)

You may carry as many loose BBs in bags, speed loaders etc as you wish (unless notified per EVENT).

Rocket Launchers

-All rocket launchers must be approved by game organizers.
-Any rocket launched cannot be reused in the same scenario.
-Rockets are to be used ONLY on vehicles in event.
-DO NOT fire a rocket directly at players.

Grenade Rules

-All grenades must be approved by game organizers. Only approved grenades will be those made and intended for airsoft and training purposes. No, you cannot use tennis balls.
-Grenade tossed into a room automatically kills all players in that specific room, protected behind cover or not.
-Grenade must be tossed into room, underhand style and below head level. We do not want any head injuries.
-Grenade, once tossed, cannot be used again in the same scenario.
-Grenades cannot be used outside buildings (meaning don’t throw it at the guy hiding behind a tree.)
-Grenades can be used on all railroad tie bunkers on the field as long as they land inside the bunker.
-When tossing a grenade to an upper level, please take extra caution so as to try not to hit anyone in the top floor.
-Certain large, open buildings on the field are exempt from grenade rules. Those will be indicated before the start of the event.

M203 BB Shower Shell Rules

-If a player is using an M203 with shells that create a BB shower, they must physically hit another player with BBs in order to eliminate that player. This is to reduce confusion over whether an M203 round was actually fired into a building.

Foam/Rubber M203 rounds

-All foam/rubber M203 rounds must be approved by game organizers.
-Any foam/rubber M203 rounds launched cannot be reused in the same scenario.
-Foam/rubber M203 rounds are to be used ONLY on vehicles in event.
-DO NOT fire foam/rubber M203 rounds directly at players.

Transporting Objectives

-If hit while transporting an objective, you must drop it where you were hit.
-If you are healed by a team mate, you may pick it up again or a team mate may pick it up.
-Any items dropped because of a hit may be recovered by the opposing team.

Radio Channels

1 – Game Organizer Communication and Emergency Channel
2 – 6 – Black Team
7 – 11 – Camo Team
NO CHANNEL SURFING/MONITORING OTHER TEAM’S FREQUENCIES!

**Please note that these rules for Medics, Ammo, Grenades/Rockets, Transporting Objectives and Radio Channels will be followed unless otherwise noted in individual scenarios.**

Water

All players MUST carry water with them into the field. 2 liters is recommended.

Real Weapons

Under no circumstances are any weapons that could be considered real weapons allowed in the field or at the facility of play. This is for your safety. Any violation of this rule will result in the violator(s) immediate expulsion from Airsoft Louisville events and membership. The only exception that may be made is for pocket knives. Anything that can be considered a traditional pocket knife and has less than a 2 inch blade is allowed to be carried, but cannot be used in any way that is threatening to another player.

Airsoft Louisville Night Game Standards

-400 FPS limit on ALL replica's.
-Semi ONLY
-MANDATORY EQUIPMENT;
1. RED glow stick
2. Flashlight
3. Full face protection MANDATORY (paintball full face mask, bacalava, shemagh, scarf or wrap...anything to cover mouth).

Old School game?

Old school game days are your basic 'back yard' style game.
It's a "you start here, we start there", kinda game with little or no story line or scenario.
Game types include; attack and defend, CTF, search and destroy and team elimination.
We hold NO restrictions on magazine capacities or types.
You are allowed and encouraged to use a BOX magazine on an MP5 or carry as many high capacity magazines as you wish.
MEDIC rules may change based on game type.
All other rules stand and are enforced.
